University Library
The library is open to everyone and provides a number of services.
Borrowing books
University of Tilburg Alumni members and Brabant Collection users can apply for a library card at the LIS Service Desk. There is no charge for a subscription, but a 15 euro deposit for the card is required. Other external users are required to pay an annual subscription charge. For details and ID requirements, see the library card page. More information on borrowing, extending and reserving can be found here.
Searching the catalogues and information databases
The library has over 800.000 books, journals and other publications in paper and digital form. Not all databases are accessible for external customers. A list of all databases, can be found on the databases page
(under "All databases A to Z"). On this page you can search after logging in via the button Click to access as external borrower.
The
button indicates which databases have open access.
In the library there are retrieval PCs on each floor. These require no log-in and can be used by everyone. The Tilburg University website and the library catalogues and information databases can be accessed from these computers.
Podcast (what and where in the library)
A podcast is available for a tour of the library. This audio-tour takes you along the various facilities in the building.
to download the podcast on your personal mp3-player or cellphone.
You can also borrow an mp3-player with the podcast at the LIS Service Desk. As security you need to hand in a valid identification, which is returned after handing in the mp3-player.
You are required to provide your own earplugs
