Research
Research in the Organization & Strategy group covers three broad fields:
- International Business
- Strategic Management
- Operations and Logistics Management
Within these fields we focus on firms’ strategic choices and performance. We put emphasis on knowledge transfer as it pertains to corporate expansion, interfirm collaboration, and organizational control and adaptation mechanisms. The group pursues large-scale empirical analyses, but where relevant also encourages theoretical or exploratory research. Our researchers draw on a variety of disciplines and theories, including transaction cost economics, organizational learning, and evolutionary economics and sociology. We focus, on three related topics:
- corporate expansion and foreign market entry strategies and performance
- organizational and technological learning and innovation within and across firms
- organizational control and adaptation under uncertainty and upheaval
Our work has recently been published in journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of International Business Studies, Management Science, Organization Science, and the Strategic Management Journal.
The Organization & Strategy group is part of Tilburg University’s CentER (Center for Research in Economics and Business).
