Theo Kraan Award for TiSEM student Greta Olear
Every year Master students of Tilburg School of Economics and Management have a chance to win the Theo Kraan Award for the best thesis written on a subject related to investing. On Tuesday, December 13th, 2016, the Theo Kraan Award 2016 was awarded to TiSEM student Greta Olear.
The award was handed out during a lunch reception at Van Lanschot in Amsterdam. Greta Olear received it for her thesis on individualization of life cycle investments with the title: "Benefits of Individualized Lifecycle Investing: the impact of individual wage profile & housing wealth". The award was presented by Richard Bruens, Board of Directors of Van Lanschot.
In her thesis Greta researches the added value
of customization of lifecycle investments in the framework of the Dutch
pension system. The heterogeneity of people leads to the conclusion that
higher welfare is created by people deviating from the average. Greta
suggests to personalize life cycle investments based on risk aversion,
income profile and home ownership.
