Lunch Seminar with Mark Alfano and Emily Sullivan on Digital Humanities

When: Februari 23th, 2018

Where: Tilburg University, Dante Building - Room D 353

In the context of the turn to digitalisation of the Tilburg School of Humanities the department will be hosting the occasional inspirational event, to explore ways in which our department could connect to this turn.

On February the 23th there will be a lunch event from 13:00-17:00 (Room D 353). During this meeting Mark Alfano and Emily Sullivan will showcase some results of digital humanities projects in contemporary philosophy (visualizing and analyzing social networks to shed light on their epistemic properties) and the history of philosophy (visualizing and analyzing semantic networks in a philosopher's texts to elucidate the concepts distinctive of their philosophy). They will then show in detail the methodology used to produce these results and help the seminar participants brainstorm digital humanities projects of their own.

We have invited Mark and Emily over who are hosting a workshop in Amsterdam on digital humanities next month as well, so we hope that many of you will turn up. Lunch will be included for those who let us know beforehand that they will join us. Please send an email as soon as you know that you are able to join us (so we know what size of room to book), but no later than one week before the event. You can send your email to the address below with the subject header of this email.
