The annual 'Dag van de Filosofie'

The national Dag van de Filosofie is an annual event held in Tilburg within the scope of the national Maand van de Filosofie. There is a different theme each year; last year it was Borders; in 2015 the theme was Inequality; in 2014 it was Man and Technology. In a program rich in variation with lectures, debates, interviews, master classes, documentaries and art, fundamental questions will be raised for a broad audience in order to stimulate reflection and well-informed opinions.

The Dag van de Filosofie offers a platform for discussion to participants of science, education, politics, media, corporate life and the arts. De Dag van de Filosofie has a steady and loyal audience and attracts hundreds of participants every year.

The first Dag van de Filosofie was held in 2003. Speakers since then have been Peter Buwalda, Tomás Sedlácek, Arjo Klamer, Jan Siebelink, Peter Sloterdijk, Harry Mulisch, David van Reybrouck, Gerard Spong, A.F.Th. van der Heijden, Jos de Mul, Adriaan van Dis, Susan Blackmore, Tariq Ramadan, Jaap Goedegebuure, Gerdi Verbeet, Willem Drees, Ton Lemaire, Sunny Bergman, Jonathan Wolff, Frank Vandenbroecke, Paul Frissen and Princess Mabel Wisse Smit.
