The educational tasks are in the hands of the departments. Together with the institutes, the departments also have responsibility for the research tasks. Depending on their educational activities, each researcher is attached to one of the departments listed below.

Department of Criminal Law
Our department is of multidisciplinary composition and focuses on Dutch and European criminal law and criminal procedure as well as social scientific research of crime and victims. The department provides education and research in the fields of criminal law, criminology, victimology and intercultural forensic psychiatry.

Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society (TILT)
TILT is one of the leading research groups in Europe at the intersection of law, technology, and society. It is premised on the multidisciplinary study of socio-technical change, aiming at understanding the interaction of technology and social and normative practices, in order to clarify how regulatory challenges of socio-technical change can be addressed.

Fiscal Institute Tilburg (FIT)
The Fiscal Institute Tilburg (FIT) is a joint academic institution of the Department of Tax Economics (DTE) of Tilburg School of Economics and management (TISEM) and the Department of Tax Law (DTL) of Tilburg Law School (TLS). Our staff of approximately 70 members makes FIT one of the largest tax departments in Europe. Due to our multidisciplinary nature, research, education and outreach activities benefit from synergies of both departments.
