Hans Haans, Onafhankelijken

I have worked at Tilburg University for over 17 years. In those 17 years I have always been involved in the goings on with the university. For example, in addition to my main tasks of teaching and doing research I have been a member of the TiSEM Education Committee, I have served as Academic Director, and I am still active as a member of the Examination Appeal Board and the Advisory Committee for Objections and Notices of Appeal. For me it is a logical next step to run for the University Council.

The reason I am on the list for the Independents, is that I feel that the university should be a place where everyone can work or study contentedly, not only now, but in the future as well. The University Council enables me to contribute to decisions about the future of our university in a number of areas, from financial health to matters concerning education and research. My main goal is to serve as a sounding board for staff.

Anne de Vries, Onafhankelijken

Within the Independents, I would like to contribute to thorough decision-making. I find it of the utmost importance that the quality of university services is not negatively affected by short-term cuts and performance pressure. Being a PhD candidate myself, I aspire to give PhDs a voice within the Council and to contribute to a broad and academic sound. Other topics that I aim to focus on are (amongst other things): a focus on high quality education, improved career possibilities for teachers, and a sustainable campus.

Korine Bor, TiU International

I joined Tilburg University in 2009 and currently work as Management Assistant for the departments of Econometrics and Operations Research as well as Economics at TiSEM.

From Sept 2014 until January 2016 I was a member of the staff fraction of the TiSEM Faculty Council which allowed me to critically follow and comment on the decision making process of the pre-implementation phase of the BEST operation. With a new support staff organization in place, there is still need to monitor the result critically to make sure the initial goals have been accomplished.

I support TiU International’s core values and believe that by working together our academics and support staff can achieve the goal of excellence in research and teaching.  Support staff looking for career advancement should be given every opportunity to grow and not be kept from moving forward by budgetary constraints. Good performance should be rewarded. Feedback should be encouraged and work both ways not only from the top down.  As TiU International we will remain vigilant about any and all decision making processes that not only involve our staff but also our campus, like the renovation of buildings, and make sure that there is adequate transparency during the process and that final decisions are always based on solid evidence and supported by a majority.

Together we can make the difference.

Tobias Klein, TiU International

Tobias Klein, TiU Interntional

I am a representative of TiU International. All members of our party share the idea that involving both, Dutch-speaking and international employees in the decision making will benefit our university.

Our thinking is guided by two goals, achieving excellence in research and excellence in teaching. We believe that this is not only in the interest of faculty and Ph.D. students, but also and in particular the supporting staff.

More information on our party, including our program, can be found on our website. You can also follow us on Facebook.

Lotte Gofers, SAM

Lotte Gofers, fractie SAM

My name is Lotte Gofers, I am 21 years old and I am currently studying at University College, with a major in Law in Europe. I am a fourth year member of T.S.R. Vidar and my sorority N.O.N. In those years I gained lots of experience in various committees. After receiving my bachelor diploma I would like to do the master Law & Technology. This year I am taking a break from studying to focus on the University Council full time.

Within Student Party SAM I am the Executive Board, which means that I will mainly concern myself with the content policy and the strategy of the university. Besides, I believe it is important that students receive enough space for extracurricular activities and personal development, which is linked to the character building mentioned in the new educational profile. It is the role of the university to stimulate students for this by offering video lectures, enough workplaces and tuition fee board years.

This year I will further spend my time on monitoring the Tilburg Educational Profile, organizing the Teacher of the Year Election to cast a spotlight on excellent lecturers, and I am the contact person for the faculty wide Advice Group.

Do you have any issues or suggestions? We are happy with all your input! You can contact us at  info@fractiesam.nl or WhatsApp us at +31 6 29264084. Or even better: come visit our room. Our door is always open for you.

Daphne van Os, SAM

Daphne van Os, fractie SAM

I’m Daphne van Os, 22 years old and currently a bachelor student in Dutch Law. From the moment I started my bachelor studies in Dutch Law, I became an active member of the study association Magister JFT. In particular last year, I have made an effort to organize as much interesting and study related activities for Dutch Law students and students of the master Victimology and Criminal Justice as possible.

After three years of being fully committed to the law students, I want to devote my efforts to all students at Tilburg University! In my opinion students need to have the opportunity to, develop themselves apart from their studies. I believe that these opportunities provide a task for Tilburg University to facilitate and support. Therefore I believe that each and every student of our university should have the possibility to develop themselves on different levels next to having access to high quality education. This year I would like to make the difference within the University Council by creating an environment within the university where students get motivated to chase their dreams and ambitions.

This year I will further spend my time on a university wide Honors Academy. In our vision the Academy is a platform for all students that want something extra next to their study such as knowledge and skills. This way both excellent and highly motivated students get more opportunities.

Do you have any issues or suggestions? We are happy with all your input! You can contact us at  info@fractiesam.nl or WhatsApp us at +31 6 29264084. Or even better: come visit our room, E. 206. Our door is always open for you!

Tim Evers, SAM

Tim Evers, fractie SAM

My name is Tim Evers, I am 21 years old and I am a master student Organization Studies. Last year I obtained my bachelor degree in Psychology and Society. This year I decided to completely focus on the University Council and my board year at Student Party SAM. Besides my studies, I am an active member of Study Association Complex.

As an ambitious student, I think it is vital that everyone gets the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities. I would like to take the digitalization of education to a higher level next year in order to achieve this. I participate in DEEP (Digital Education Enhancement Program) as a representative of Student Party SAM. In DEEP, we focus on improving the digital facilities and the use of these facilities at this university.

Next to digitalization, I believe it is important that students can sport in a comfortable way at this university. Currently, at the sports centre the capacity is one of the main topics. This year I am going to try to solve this issue in cooperation with the student sports associations. As student you pay for the facilities, in return you may expect facilities of a high quality.

Do you have any issues or suggestions? We are happy with all your input! You can contact us at info@fractiesam.nl or WhatsApp us at +31 6 29264084. Or even better: come visit our room. Our door is always open for you.
