International Law in today's world

A 'last lecture' is a lecture in which a professor lectures a group of students as if it was his last lecture. Equipped with lifelong experience in the fields of human rights and international law, Willem van Genugten can make us think, discuss and dream about the current international developments.  Starting from that reality, we will deal with the role of international law in today’s world, including a discussion of some historical trends. Doing that, it will also discuss concepts such as ‘state sovereignty’, given the fact that major problems such as climate change and the fight against terrorism ‘have no passports’ (thus former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan). What can we do to not make our problems great (er again)?  Are your ready to face the world full of challenges? Come to this Last Lecture!
