Celebrities and other influencers often go wrong with appearing scientific. Science journalist Adriaan ter Braack is even fascinated and incensed by the online proliferation of pseudoscience. Armed with cynical humor and a critical eye, he tries to pave a way through it and provide a counterpoint under the pseudonym 'Sjamadriaan'.
On Twitter and Instagram he often shares snippets of bizarre health claims and funny pseudoscience, which he tries to refute or explain the origins of. He has a popular newsletter for text, explanations and scientific references. He also explains how the media can work to combat or encourage disinformation.
