Eight Tilburg University programs rated as best in their fields

Elsevier annually compares a large number of degree programs in Dutch higher education and then ranks each program within its own field. The new ranking is based on student assessments from the National Student Survey (NSE) 2023. In addition to the information on student satisfaction, the program reports compiled by Elsevier Weekblad and ResearchNed also contain information about accreditation reports, selection and admission requirements, the composition of the student population, success rate, the labor market position of alumni, and the assessment of instructors by students.

Number 1 programs

The Bachelor’s programs that were rated as the best programs of their kind are Economics and Philosophy. The number 1 Master’s programs are those of Fiscal Economics, Strategic Management, Economics, Law, International and European Law, and Philosophy. 

Medals for Tilburg University

Apart from the ranking per program, Elsevier has also published a medal ranking on the basis of a comparison between the NSE scores of a specific program and the sector as a whole. Tilburg University has received a gold medal for the Research Master’s program in Individual Differences and Assessment. This means that this program scores significantly higher than the sector average on eight or more of the eleven NSE items that were used to calculate the rankings. There are also silver medals for the Master’s programs in Quantitative Finance and Actuarial Science, Business Law (Ondernemingsrecht) and Labour Law and Employment Relations (significantly better on six or seven items) and bronze medals (significantly better on four or five items) for our Bachelor’s programs in Fiscal Economics and Philosophy and our Master’s programs in International Business Taxation, Data Science and Entrepreneurship and Philosophy.
