Executive Board response to election results and internationalization discussion

Published: 29th November 2023 Last updated: 29th November 2023

Dear colleagues and students,

Within our community, as elsewhere, the recent election results and internationalization are being widely discussed. One frequently asked question is what the implications are for Tilburg University and for our community.

We wish to emphasize that Tilburg University is and will remain an open, diverse, and inclusive community where all are welcome, and equal. Whether you work or study at Tilburg University – and regardless of your background, your outlook on life, and your politics – you belong to our community. We also wish to emphasize that our international staff and students are full and valuable members of our community. We take pride in our open character, our international classroom, and the many national and international connections that enrich our education and research. We urge you all to continue to meet and have discussions.

If you are a student, we would like to reassure you that the degree program you are currently taking will not be impacted. Once the implications for Tilburg University are clear, more information will be shared. Finally, we would like to remind you that our doors are open if you have questions or concerns.

Kind regards,

The Executive Board,

Wim van de Donk, Rector Magnificus and President

Jantine Schuit, Vice-Rector Magnificus

Wilma de Koning, Vice-President

Hans-Georg van Liempd, Secretary of Tilburg University and Director of University Services

Carolien Metselaar, acting Secretary of Tilburg University and acting Director of University Services
