Program
Economists with a handle on the workings of the global economy are in high demand by financial, private and public organisations. With seismic shifts in the world economic landscape – emerging new economies, the dawn of a single European market, a worldwide credit crisis and subsequent plans for new macroeconomic and structural policy by governments worldwide – those who can understand, analyse and forecast these new market forces are highly coveted.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Tilburg University, you can lay claim to this expertise. Not to mention the prestige of having been taught by some of Europe’s most respected economists.
Tilburg University’s three-year Bachelor of Science in Economics is on par with the best Economics programs in the world. The Economics program provides profound knowledge in microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics, as well as specific knowledge in core fields including Financial Economics, International Economics, Public Sector Economics and Development Economics. Two courses in Business Economics and two in Philosophy are also part of the degree, and a variety of elective courses are offered during the last semester of the program.
Every day you will benefit from the quality inherent at Tilburg University, which is reflected in the program design, curriculum, teaching methodology, and simply the faculty members themselves, who will inspire you during lectures and tutorials.
The program is divided in a two-year foundation phase consisting of twenty mandatory courses, and a one-year specialisation phase organised around a variety of free electives and program electives. Assessment schemes take into account written exam results as well as your performance and participation in class.
