Application package

First step of the application procedure, or Stage 1, is your submission of an application package. Your application package must contain the following documents:

  1. A printed and completed application form that must be signed and dated by you.

  2. Certified/authenticated copies of your diploma(s) and grade list(s). If you have not obtained your diploma yet, please enclose a certified copy of your most recent grade list(s). If your diploma(s) and grade list(s) are not already in English, Dutch, French or German, you will need a sworn translation into English of these documents.

  3. A letter of motivation stating why you would like to join the BA Liberal Arts and Sciences programme at Tilburg University. We advise all applicants to write a letter of motivation no longer than one page typed.

  4. An essay that addresses a societal problem or issue (be it social, political, moral, or artistic) you have found particularly compelling this year. This is an opportunity for you to display your ability to critically analyse a topic and effectively argue your viewpoint - illustrating your points with supportive evidence. We advise all applicants to write an essay no longer than 800 words. (Note: The best admissions essay will be awarded with the “Best Essay Award” during the introduction day for new students in August.)

  5. A true copy of the results of an English proficiency test.

  6. Photocopies (3x) of your passport.

  7. Chinese applicants only: Nuffic (formerly NESO) certificate. For information on how to obtain a Nuffic certificate, please visit the Nuffic website New window.
