During the Arrival Days all new international students will be picked up at Tilburg Universiteit railway station and brought to Tilburg University. You will then be welcomed by Tilburg University staff and receive a welcome package, which contains useful information about the University, Tilburg and the Introduction Week (TOP-week) program. You will also receive official proof of registration at Tilburg University and a Tilburg University e-mail account which is accessible immediately. Together with the housing company you will go through the necessary paperwork, including the tenancy agreement (if you have booked a room via http://www.yourroomintilburg.com). Once everything is taken care of, you will be taken to your accommodation by Tilburg University’s student volunteers.
For the academic year of 2013-2014, the Arrival Days will be on:
- Thursday 15 August and Friday 16 August 2013 for the Fall semester, from 9 am till 7:30 pm
- Saturday 11 January 2014 for the Spring semester, from 9 am till 7:30 pm
Most international students will come to the Netherlands by plane. Airports close to Tilburg are Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam (AMS) and Brussels Airport in Brussels (BRU). Students will have to take a train to Tilburg. This will take approximately three hours. For more information on train schedules, please go to the website of the Dutch Railways (NS).
If you arrive outside the openingtimes of the arrival days you will need to stay in a hotel. The same is true, if you arrive prior to the Arrival Days. In either case, Tilburg University recommends the following hotels:
