Application and admission for BSc Data Science

The BSc Data Science is a joint program of Tilburg University and Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). The application and admission procedure is done exclusively via TU/e. You cannot, nor should you apply via both universities. Once you have completed your enrollment at TU/e, you will automatically be enrolled at Tilburg University.

To be eligible for admission you must have a high school diploma equal to the highest level of secondary education in the Netherlands (the Dutch vwo diploma).

English language requirements

As this bachelor’s program is taught entirely in English, you must prove your English language proficiency by submitting the results of one of the following tests: 

IELTS Academic: Overall band score of at least 6.5 and a minimum of 6.0 for each section.  

  • We do not accept IELTS Online

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): Overall band score of at least 90 AND a minimum score of 21 for each section. 

  • Only the TOEFL internet-based test (iBT) is accepted.
  • All scores need to be from 1 test date. 
  • MyBest Scores are not accepted.

University of Cambridge, proof that you have passed the:

  • C2 proficiency (formally known as CPE) with overall score 180 with a minimum of 169 in each section  
    OR
  • C1 Advanced Certificate (formally known as CAE) with overall score 176 with a minimum of 169 in each section

Please note 

  • The test results must not be older than two years at the time of application. 
  • Your English language proficiency test results must be available when you submit your application. If not, your application will be rejected. A new application, including test results, will only be accepted if it is submitted before the application deadline. As it may take a considerable amount of time before you receive your test results, we advise you to register for the test of your choice months before starting your application.

3. Mathematics requirements

Mathematics requirements

Mathematics is a required course. This means that even if you have obtained or are going to obtain a recognized diploma, you must be able to prove that you have a sufficient level of Mathematics.
