Application instruction
If you wish to apply for an exchange program at Tilburg University, and you are nominated by your home university, you should fill in the online application form.
The application form for exchange students consists of three parts.
- Personal Details
- Accommodation
- Learning Agreement
With respect to part 1 (personal details), you should provide a permanent address at which you can be contacted throughout the year, as the university may wish to contact you during the semester and during vacation periods. It is essential that Tilburg University is notified of any change of address at the earliest opportunity.
With respect to part 2, accommodation if offered by WonenBreburg to exchange students on a "first-come, first-serve basis". Please have a look here for more information.
With respect to part 3 (learning agreement), select the courses you would like to take. Course enrolment will be based on the courses indicated on your application form. Please be aware that the final registration will take place in the Welcome Week and hence you can still change your study program during the first week in Tilburg.
Regarding course enrolment please take notice of the following procedures:
- As a rule, Tilburg University obliges all exchange students to register for at least 24 ECTS credits. In case the home university of a student allows the student to follow less than 24 ECTS credits, a written statement by the home university on this subject should be attached.
- The results of all registered courses will be mentioned on the 'Transcript of Records'. Please note that also insufficient results will be mentioned on this transcript as well as courses for which the student is registered but for which he or she does not take the examination.
- Students cannot take examinations for courses for which they are not registered. This means that course enrolment and examination are identical.
- You always need the approval of the concerned faculty coordinator before you are able to complete the (final) registration for a course. This means that the approval of a lecturer is not sufficient for taking courses.
Completing your application
Please make sure that ALL three parts of the application form are completed. Once you have completed all parts, you will have to print the application form. This printed version must be signed and sealed by your institution's coordinator and yourself. Then click the 'submit button' to register yourself at Tilburg University.
After you have submitted the application form, you should receive an automated e-mail mentioning that your electronic application has been received in good order. Next, you should sent the following documents by regular mail:
- The printed version of the application form
- Photocopy of your passport
- One passport photo
