About the Language Center

Tilburg University is an internationally oriented research and education institute in the Netherlands. Of course, language plays an important role in internationalization efforts. Language is used to establish contacts, acquire knowledge, pass on information, and publish the results of scientific research, not only in Dutch, but also in English, Chinese, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese. The Language Center assists students, university staff, and non-university students in improving their language proficiency.

Facilities
The Language Center is housed on the third floor of the Prisma Building. It boasts six modernly furnished instruction rooms on the fifth and sixth floors of the Simon Building. These rooms have been specially equipped for modern language education. Two rooms (SZ 521 and SZ 623) are language labs with a personal computer for each participant. With these, students can do all kinds of exercises at their own pace. These rooms are also equipped with interactive Smartboards. The four other rooms (SZ 523, 525, 625, and 627) have excellent audiovisual facilities enabling teachers to bring texts and images into the classroom. The Language Center also has two mobile camera sets that can be used to record and show presentations in order for course participants to receive individual feedback.
