two students studying

Arabic for beginners

The most important thing about this course is that you learn to read and write the Arabic alphabet. You will find that the Arabic alphabet is relatively simple and you will quickly master the reading and writing of the letters.

During the lessons, for example, you will view Arabic newspapers on a large screen and try, with your fellow students, to recognize letters and words in them. Speaking and listening are also covered to a lesser extent and by the end of the course you will be able to hold simple conversations.

The daily culture of Arabs is also covered. This includes manners, but also Arabic music from classical to mystical and modern.

By the end of the course, you will have reached level A1 of the European Framework of Reference. You will then be able to:

  • greet and have simple conversations on everyday topics such as name, nationality, occupation, home, and studies;
  • understand and use important expressions;
  • read and write Arabic texts, but text comprehension is still quite limited;
  • understand the differences and similarities between your own culture and that of Arabic-speaking countries and make these comprehensible to others to facilitate communication.
