Accounting
The MSc Accounting offers students an in-depth and scientific understanding of financial and management accounting as well as corporate financial reporting and related issues. At the start of the academic year, students need to choose between the three different tracks we offer, namely the Accountancy Track, the Management Control Track and the CFA Track.
The Accountancy Track or RA Track has a strong focus on the set-up and control of external financial reporting and prepares students for the post-Master’s program ‘Registeraccountant’ (RA - in Dutch).
The Management Control Track or RC Track is recommended for students who wish to continue with the Post-Master’s program ‘Registercontroller’; (RC – in Dutch) and who pursue a career as corporate controller or accountant in a company.
The CFA Track offers opportunities for students interested in pursuing the CFA® designation (Chartered Financial Analysts Institute). Core accounting courses are supplemented by electives from related fields of Finance and Organization and prepare students for the CFA exams and careers as financial analyst, investment banker.
Besides these three tracks students can also self-select into a more general master program (by selecting electives). It is however, for career opportunities, strongly advised to choose one of the three tracks.
