Admission Requirements

For Tilburg School of Economics and Management

MSc Programmes
Applications for admission are assessed throughout the year but you are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible, especially if you would like assistance with your visa application and with finding accommodation. The admission procedure usually takes a maximum of 4 weeks. In order to facilitate this process, it is imperative that you submit all required documents and meet all the academic requirements.

Admission Requirements
1) Educational background/diplomas
Entrance requirement for the MSc in Business programmes is a university Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Economics or Management.
Entrance requirement for the MSc in Economics programmes is a university Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field in Economics. This degree should be equal to the Dutch university Bachelor of Science degree. In addition, we require students to submit the results of a GMAT or GRE test. Furthermore, you need to have a sufficient level of English, Statistics and Mathematics.

2) GMAT or GRE General Test
It is compulsory to submit your GMAT or GRE General test score. Depending on the MSc programme of your choice, you either need to submit the results of the GMAT test or the results of the GRE General test. Please check the overview below to find out which one is required. In some cases you may be able to replace GMAT by the GRE General test and vice versa. The GMAT test is compulsory for the MSc programmes listed below:

Finance
Information Management
International Management
Marketing Management
Marketing Research
Strategic Management
Supply Chain Management

The average GMAT score of accepted students at Tilburg University is 600. The GMAT institutional code for Tilburg University is VMV-LT-02.

GRE General Test
The GRE General test is compulsory for the MSc programmes listed below:
Econometrics and Mathematical Economics
Economics
Economics and Finance of Aging
Operations Research and Management Science
Quantitative Finance and Actuarial Science

Our incoming students usually score above the 75% percentile on the GRE General test.

Students with a relevant degree from one of the official partner universities of the Tilburg School of Economics and Management are exempted from the GMAT/GRE requirement. 3) English language requirement
You need to demonstrate proficiency in English by submitting the results of either a TOEFL score with a minimum of 575 (paper-based) / 233 (computer-based) / 90-91 (internet-based) or Academic IELTS score with a minimum of 6.5 score overall and a minimum score of 6.0 on individual parts of the test, or the Cambridge Proficiency results.

The TOEFL institutional code for Tilburg University is 9860.

An English proficiency test is not required if you are an English native speaker, i.e. if you are a citizen of, or have obtained your university education in English for at least three years in one of the following countries: Australia, Canada (with exception of Quebec), New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States of America. For all other countries, the English language test is compulsory.
