Admission and application for:

Bachelor's graduates of Tilburg University

A Tilburg University Bachelor's in Econometrics and Operations Research degree makes you automatically eligible for the Master’s in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics program.

Bachelor's graduates of other universities

To be eligible for the Master's in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics program you must have a Bachelor's in Econometrics and Operations Research degree or a similar qualification from a university recognized by the Admissions Board.
We require you to have a solid academic background in the following fields:

  • Mathematics and Statistics
  • Economics

The following literature gives you an idea of the level of mathematical and statistical ability we require for entry into the program:

  • Sydsaeter, K. and P. Hammond, Essential Mathematics for Economic Analysis, Pearson Education (2002)
  • D.C. Lay, Linear Algebra and its Applications, Addison-Wesley, Second Edition, Amsterdam, (1997)

Our Admissions Board may give you the opportunity to rectify deficiencies during the Master's program.
Proficiency in English is required. If you obtained your Bachelor's degree in the Netherlands, you are a native English speaker, or your Bachelor's degree was entirely taught in English, you are not required to submit an English proficiency test. All other students must submit the results of an Academic IELTS with a minimum score of 6.5 overall (6.0 minimum on parts) or, alternatively, a minimum TOEFL score of 575 (paper test).
Scores on separate parts of the tests are also evaluated, since we require you to possess good reading, writing, and oral skills. Please note: the Admission Board reserves the right to refuse candidates who meet the admissions requirements on the basis of capacity constraints or the need for diversity in the student population.
