Minor Social Psychology
The minor program in Social Psychology presents students with an engaging and challenging curriculum. Our research group belongs to the international top research groups in social psychology (including economic psychology, organizational psychology and cultural psychology).
In this program you will work with ambitious and inspiring academics who publish regularly in high impact journals and who are annually ranked among the best lecturers in our School. Our goal as a School is to challenge and inspire students, enabling them to develop their full potential as scientists and professionals. As a student, you will find that almost anything is possible; as long as you are willing to work hard we are willing to support any viable initiatives.
The research group represents a broad range of expertise. We have researchers working in a large variety of topics such as consumer psychology, coalition formation, culture, decision-making, emotion and affect, evolutionary psychology, political psychology, social cognition and social influence. As a student, you will work with various different researchers in the form of internships, research papers, and your Master's thesis.
Thus, you will be able to learn first-hand from the experts themselves. In addition, you are invited to attend weekly seminars by international scientists who present their work to our research group.
Apart from internships, theses and seminars, you will follow an educational program that is aimed towards making you an expert in (social) psychological research, both in terms of content and methodological skills. Every year several of our Research Master students present posters or presentations at national and international conferences, attesting to the fact that our students indeed attain the level for which we aim. You can find the specific courses in this minor under the green program structure button on the left.
If you would like to know more about our program or our group you can contact the Social Psychology coordinator, dr. Seger Breugelmans by e-mail at s.m.breugelmans@uvt.nl.
We are looking forward to having you in our group.
Best,
Prof. dr. Marcel Zeelenberg
