Holland Scholarship

The Holland Scholarship is an initiative between the Dutch Government and Dutch universities to provide a one-year Scholarship of 5,000 euros to selected students. Tilburg University is part of this initiative and has a total of 26 Scholarships available.

Who is eligible for the Holland Scholarship at Tilburg University?

    • If you want to apply for a (Research) Master’s program in the field of Economics & Management, you must be a non-EEA citizen in order to be eligible for the Holland Scholarship. (You are a non-EEA student if you do not have the nationality of any of the EU-countries + Iceland + Norway + Switzerland).
    • If you want to apply for a (Research) Master’s program in the field of Law, Social Sciences, Communication, Culture or Philosophy, you must be a citizen of Brazil, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, Mexico or Russia in order to be eligible for the Holland Scholarship.
    • If you want to apply for the Master's program Christianity and Society you must be a citizen of Indonesia or China in order to be eligible for the Holland Scholarship.
    • You need to apply (or already have applied) to any of the (Research) Master’s programs listed in the ‘How to apply’ section.

    Additional requirements for students who apply for a master’s program:

    • You must have achieved excellent study results in your relevant (under)graduate program. As an indication, you must have graduated (or can prove that you are going to graduate) with an average result of at least 8 (out of 10) or must be among the top 10% of your class;
    • To prove that you are an excellent student you can send us a statement from your university saying that you belonged to the top 10% of your class. This is not necessary if your average grade is specified on your Transcript of Records;
    • You must be newly-enrolled at Tilburg University.

    You must complete the Holland Scholarship application form and upload this document as an additional document in our online application system 'MySas'. Your application must be submitted in our online application system before April 1, 2018. If you have already applied and just need to submit the Scholarship application form, you can do this until May 1, 2018 by sending it to msc.tisem@tilburguniversity.edu.

    You must complete the Holland Scholarship application form and upload this document as an additional document in our online application system 'MySas'. Your application must be submitted in our online application system before February 1, 2018. If you have already applied and just need to submit the Scholarship application form, you can send the Scholarship application form to center-gs@tilburguniversity.edu as long as it is also before the deadline of February 1st.

    We will automatically consider all Orange Tulip Scholarship applicants for the Holland Scholarship too. This means that you will be able to benefit from both a partial tuition fee waiver through the Orange Tulip Scholarship AND a compensation towards your living costs worth € 5,000 through the Holland Scholarship.     Scholarship Announcement

    In the first half of June all candidates will be informed about the outcome of the Holland Scholarship selection. Students that have applied for a Research Master in the field of Economics or Business will be notified earlier.

    Some important information

    It is possible to combine the Holland Scholarship with any other partial scholarship like the Orange Tulip Scholarship. It is not allowed to combine the Holland Scholarship with a full scholarship (for example NFP, EUROSA or STUNED), but you can apply for both at the same time.
