Dentist

The Dutch word for dentist is 'tandarts'. Almost all dental practices in the Netherlands are private, there are no state practices.

Many of the Dutch practices are full an it can be difficult to find one able to take on new patients. A dentist can be found via the website tandarts.nl or this overview (only in Dutch). Another option would be to contact your health insurance agency to request a list of practices that are accepting new patients.

In case of an emergency outside office hours: call 0900-9990909.

Tandarts013 is happy to receive foreign students as a patient. The locations of 'tandarts013' are:

  • Nieuwlandstaat 35, Tilburg (city center)
  • Olympiaplein 389, Tilburg (Stappegoor, near the skating hall and the University of applied sciences Fontys)

More information: Tandarts 013 (only in Dutch).

Insurance

In general, dental treatment is not covered by your health insurance. Dental care can only be insured by taking out an additional insurance.  So check your insurance before you visit a dentist!
