Tilburg University ranks best specialist university again

How do people judge the position of a university in society? Some suggest by word of mouth, others are guided by the results of its marketing strategies or how often experts are approached to comment on the issues of today. All of these contribute to the university's image, but to get a objective opinion research is necessary in the form of a survey. Not just a survey of peers but one that takes into account the experiences of its main customers, the students who experience the university in all its facets. This is exactly what renowned Dutch opinion & news magazine Elsevier does every year in its annual higher education survey.

For Tilburg University this means it can put another feather in its cap having been voted best Specialist University by Dutch professors three years in a row according to the Elsevier survey. Apart from the top position of the university, professors also awarded first place to the Bachelor's programmes of Economics, Econometrics and Operations Research, Tax Law and Dutch Law. Another programme that was lauded was the Bachelor programme Sociology which took second place.

And how did students rate the university? They awarded first place to the Bachelor's programmes Dutch Law and Fiscal Economics, the latter sharing its position with Maastricht University. Best Master's programmes they assessed were Accounting and Organisation Studies. Accounting holds this first position with the VU University Amsterdam. According to the students the best lecturers of the Bachelor's programme International Business can also be found at the Tilburg University. And last but not least another ranking worth mentioning is the second place for the Bachelor's programme of Communication & Information Sciences.
