At the Tilburg University Graduate Schools, the combination of education and research creates a perfect learning and working environment for ambitious students.

Graduate School: Degree Programs for Data Science and Entrepreneurship

Eindhoven University of Technology and Tilburg University are establishing a joint Graduate School in ’s-Hertogenbosch with master and post-master programs in Data Science and Entrepreneurship. To support and stimulate entrepreneurship, the Graduate School will offer facilities for start-up businesses and new technology. Seminars and courses for members of the business community will also be organized.

A survey among stakeholders in the Brainport region has shown that the demand for new data scientists is increasing rapidly. The ’s-Hertogenbosch City Council and the Province of Noord-Brabant have undertaken to participate in the Graduate School.

The investing parties, united in the Grand Initiative Data Science, have committed to making efforts to strengthen education, research and business development in the field of big data. The latter has the potential to develop into a new, internationally appealing pillar of the Dutch economy in the triangle between ’s-Hertogenbosch – Tilburg – Eindhoven. By setting up new forms of cooperation, the four partners from Brabant wish to gain a crucial advantage.

International appeal

The combination of technical sciences (TU/e) and the humanities and social sciences (Tilburg University) will broaden expertise, making the joint initiative unique in Europe. Tilburg University has programs that cover legal, government and economic aspects as well as entrepreneurship. The Eindhoven University of Technology will provide the IT side of data science and experience in entrepreneurship. The presence of renowned scholars will give international appeal to the two universities’ joint initiative.

The graduate school will be located at the fomer Franciscan convent of Mariënburg in ’s-Hertogenbosch which will be renovated.
