Marjon van der Maat has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences (TSB), effective June 1. She succeeds Wietske van Zwol, who will retire on July 1.

Marjon van der Maat (1966) has broad managerial experience in the public sector. At the moment, she heads the Service department of the City of Tilburg. With her experience in the transition to digital and client-oriented service provision in complex organizations and her strong link with Tilburg, she will be able to contribute the business operations of the School and the university.

Antoinette de Bont (Dean of TSB): “We welcome a Managing Director with a passion for Tilburg as a knowledge hub. The connection with the city is very important for our education and research in the region. Her experience with a client-oriented approach in large organizations is particularly relevant to our School. We are a large School but we do not want to lose sight of the importance of smaller and informal connections. New educational programs and new methods of research emerge at the interface of disciplines and research groups. Her experience with the organization-wide transformation of service provision will add value to innovation in education and research.”
