Department of Marketing
The Marketing Department of Tilburg University’s School of Economics and Management is committed to excellence in research and teaching. It is one of the most productive and most cited faculties in the world and is ranked #8 worldwide by the American Marketing Association.
Several members have won school and university-wide awards for outstanding teaching and the most innovative teaching methods. Lastly, we have many productive partnerships with industry.
The department of marketing consists of academic (research) faculty, teaching assistants, junior lecturers, and Ph.D. students.
We are thrilled to introduce several new colleagues to our team in the coming months:
- Matthijs van Gils will start as a junior lecturer for Tilburg.ai, starting March 11. He will support department members (and later also other faculty at TiSEM and beyond) in getting their teaching material AI-ready. In addition, Matthijs will give workshops to students and faculty, sharing knowledge and insights about AI.
- Noa Beekmans will join us as a junior lecturer starting on August 15.

In the subscription economy, research finds that most of us are oversubscribed
24th October 2023How many subscriptions do you have? A large study by Anna Paley and Niels van de Ven from Tilburg University shows that you probably have more than you realize, and that you’re spending a lot more money on subscription services than you think. The researchers found a new way of nudging people towards better insight into their finances, which proves to be highly effective in helping the oversubscribed cut down on their monthly subscription charges.
