IPA 2012, 5-7 July

7th International Conference in Interpretive Policy Analysis:
Understanding the Drama of Democracy. Policy Work, Power and Transformation.

Pre-conference

For the second time, the conference will offer a day-long pre-conference course on Wednesday 4th of July to introduce participants – from doctoral students to more seasoned researchers – to interpretive policy analysis. The morning plenary session will provide an overview of interpretive methodologies and methods. In the afternoon, participants can choose one of three, more ‘how-to’, parallel sessions: designing interpretive research projects, varieties of discourse analysis, and policy ethnography/participant observation. The afternoon sessions are intended to be more ‘workshop’ than lecture, where participants are invited to bring their questions to the discussion. It is not designed, however, for participants to present their work (for that, see the Methodology Workshops in the regular conference program).
