Prospective Students
Students are participants. We believe strongly that our students are participants when it comes to the exchange of knowledge that occurs every day at Tilburg University!
Participants in HAIT are the vital link between Humans, Communication and Technology.
- How does a search engine work?
- How can you get a computer to enter into a dialogue with the user?
- What are the components of a content-management system?
The HAIT Master's specialization is intended for students for whom computers are a means, rather than an end. It is important not only to know how new technology works but, above all, what you can do with this technology.
You take a particular interest in language and you want to broaden and deepen your academic knowledge. You enjoy those lucid moments when a few pieces of the puzzle suddenly fall into place, but what you really want to know is how that new invention works. What is the story behind it? What is the context in which developments can be placed? It is this that interests you.
An ever-changing discipline
Within the discipline of HAIT, you are riding the wave of progress with an open mind, not knowing where it will lead you. You are constantly being confronted with processes of change, with new technology and insight. The word ‘predictability’ is unknown within this Master's specialization. Do not be intimidated by the technical aspects of the discipline; programming skills are not part of the entrance requirements. You will learn the basic skills necessary during the course of the programme.
