Een update van Gartor

My studies at Tilburg University has been awesome thus far. Since September 2014 till now, I have been able to enhance my legal knowledge and experience. I am so delighted that Tilburg University has sharpened my skills in several ways. Apart from the Tilburg Law School, I have had several other small skills training in little workshops which has been very helpful to me. Attending the Startups fair in Eindhoven was also another eye-opener for me. The Tilburg University library is my favorite spot on campus. It has a reservoir of materials that makes my studying so convenient. Above all, the multi-cultural environment allows me to feel and really see the true meaning of the Tilburg University motto; “Understanding Society”. I’ve had professors from Asia, Europe and the United States. What amazes me is about the way people from different cultural backgrounds transfer knowledge. This has been so rewarding for me. My remaining months at the Tilburg University will be a mixture of work and a little bit of fun. The International Business Law (IBL) Faculty shall be taking our class to see the Efteling next month and I’m so excited. I’m told it’s a lot of fun out there. Until then, I’m working on my thesis and busy with exams. Of course, I’ve had no regrets for coming to Tilburg University. I’m so grateful for the opportunity thus far. Tilburg University has been a life changing experience for me.

"My name is Gartor Tate. I am a Liberian and a 2003 graduate of the University of Liberia with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Economics. In 2010, I graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law of the University of Liberia, and on 04 April 2011, I was admitted to the Liberia National Bar Association as an Attorney-At-Law.

Prior to becoming an Attorney-At-Law, I served as the Administrative Assistant to the Director General of the erstwhile Bureau of the Budget of the Republic of Liberia. I am currently the Assistant Legal Counsel for the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Liberia.

I am so grateful to the Alumni Association of the Tilburg University for such a kind gesture. This opportunity is one in a million for someone like me who hails from a developing country. I can guarantee the Tilburg Alumni Association family that I shall use this opportunity to aspire for excellence and utilize the knowledge once acquired to work and improve the lives of other less fortunate people like me. I shall share the knowledge once acquired and always make myself available to the Alumni Association of Tilburg University once I am notified in advance.

Thanks once again."
