De laat-moderne cultuur is gekenmerkt door een veelheid van morele waarden, nieuw verworven rechten, politieke en religieuze overtuigingen, die alle aanleiding geven tot een specifieke gemeenschapsvorming. Wat maakt de eigenheid uit van een juridische, politieke, morele, religieuze gemeenschap? Hoe zijn die op elkaar betrokken? Kan het denken van de Verlichting (in het bijzonder KANT) hier voor verheldering zorgen?
