More information

1 username & 1 password

Every Tilburg University password is automatically valid to log in to your work station PC and your mail account. With your password you also have access to your files in your home directory on the central servers (M-drive) off campus.
With one username/password combination you can access many digital services. The Self-service university account is the only place where you can set your password. Here you can set your password recovery options as well. In case you have forgotten your password, you can still reset it online.

Forgot your password?

When you have forgotten your Tilburg University password you can apply for a password mail. This mail contains a secured link with a unique key enabling you to re-set you password on-line. The password mail is sent by default to your university-mail address.

When you have forgotten your password there is a good chance that you no longer have access to your university mailbox. Therefore, you can set two password recovery options in advance via the password recovery service. This way you'll always be able to set your password online.

In case you do not have access to your university-mailbox and you have not (yet) activated the password recovery service, you must set your Tilburg University-password at the LIS Service Desk in the library (for students and services staff) or the faculty helpdesks (for faculty and associated staff). In this case you need to present a valid ID card, passport, driving licence or Tilburg University-card.

Password-recovery service

The new password-recovery service enables you set the following two options:

  1. You can add an extra mail address (outside Tilburg University) to your Tilburg University-account settings. When you apply for a password mail, this mail will be sent to this address as well. You will always have an alternative should you no longer have access to your university-mailbox and you can reset your password with the secured link.
  2. You can state two secret questions and answers to authenticate. You can reset your password after correct answering both questions.
Retrieve a survey of your account settings

You can retrieve a webpage with a status survey of your settings in order to allow insight into your Tilburg University-account. This survey also enables you to change a number of settings yourself. The survey shows a.o.:

  • which date your password was set,
  • which options of the password-rec
  • overy service are set

To view the survey you need to authenticate with your username and password
