Abstract:
Covert organizations are widespread among the globe. Ranging from terrorist and criminal organizations to governmental networks and their support groups. Providing mathematical models of (certain aspects of) such organizations is the central topic of this monograph. The first chapters consider the design of covert networks and their affiliation structures. Additionally the resilience properties of such covert networks are analyzed. Furthermore models from cooperative game theory are used to develop measures of centrality of players in covert networks. Finally, the last chapter deals with the analysis of covert projects using so-called project games.
