Marco Da Rin
Marco Da Rin is an Associate Professor in finance in the Department of Finance at Tilburg University, a Research Fellow at CentER and Tilec, a non-resident Fellow of the Innocenzo Gasparini Institute for Economic Research - IGIER (Bocconi University, Milano), a Research Associate of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI)., and a Fellow of the Fondation Banque de France (FBF)
He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics at Stanford University and his B.A. in economics at Bocconi University. He hold previous positions at the Turin University, at IGIER (Bocconi University), at the London School of Economics, and at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.
His articles have been published in the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Financial Intermediation, the Journal of the European Economic Association, the Journal of Public Economics, the Financial History Review, and Economic Policy, among other journals, and he has contributed chapters to books published by the major Presses.
In 2006 Marco Da Rin won the NASDAQ Award for the best paper on capital formation presented at the annual Meetings of the Western Finance Association. In 2002 he won the Best Paper Prize for the most significant paper published in the Journal of Financial Intermediation in 2002.
Marco Da Rin's research is focussed on entrepreneurial finance, venture capital and private equity, and on public policy for entrepreneurship. Some of this research has been featured in The Economist, the Industry Standard, Forbes.com, and national business papers.
