Consultant

Jack Kleijnen served as a consultant for organizations in the Netherlands and abroad, which often resulted in articles published in international journals (see publications, which lists the publications referenced below by their number):

1. Netherlands:

a. FEL-TNO (Physics and Electronics Laboratory - Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research, The Hague): statistical validation of a simulation model for the search of mines on the sea bottom (see paper #123)

b. VBF (Metal Tube Manufacturing, Oosterhout): optimization of a decision support system (DSS) for production planning, based on simulation (paper #118).

c. RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and Environment, Bilthoven): validation and sensitivity analysis of a deterministic simulation model for the global CO2 greenhouse effect (paper #111).

d. PTT (The Hague): statistical methods (von Neumann test, importance sampling) for simulation models of telephone systems (papers # 61 and #43).

e. Europe Container Terminus (Rotterdam): sensitivity analysis of a simulation model for the harbour (paper #40).

2. Outside the Netherlands:

a. Sandia (Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA): statistical analysis of a simulation model for underground nuclear waste disposal in New Mexico (papers #151 and 150).

b. IBM (San Jose, California): cost/benefit analysis (including simulation) of computers (publication # 49).

Further consulting: Deloitte (Rotterdam), Hasler (Bern, Switzerland), Philips (Eindhoven), INRIA (Paris), etc.
