Simulation Course by Jack P.C. Kleijnen
Latest update: October 8, 2009The last time, I taught the course called 'Simulation for logistics' (code 2V060) for the Postgraduate International Program in Logistics Management Systems at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences of the Eindhoven University of Technology was during the period 30 September 2008 - 25 November 2008. This course was based on my 2008 book (see Publication number 208); also see the slides for this course
The following web pages try to answer the questions:
| What: | Which obligatory or recommended textbooks and other materials? |
| Why: | Why take a course in simulation? |
| Who: | Which students took this course at the Technical University Eindhoven and at Tilburg University? |
I taught this course during nine class meetings, each lasting two hours (including a fifteen-minute break).
Prerequisite knowledge of basic simulation, mathematical statistics, and operations research:
Law, A.M. (2007), Simulation modeling and analysis, fourth edition, McGraw-Hill Book Company, New York, chapters 1, 4, 6, 9, 10, 11 (= pp. 1-90, 214-242, 275-388, 485-618 = approximately 350 pages)
Also see the following information on the simulation course that I taught at Tilburg University until 2005:
