The Political Economy of the Financial Crisis

The aim of this conference was to add to the debate on the political economy aspects of the ongoing global financial crisis, and to stimulate research in this area. Topics that were discussed included: regulatory capture and lobbying, bailout negotiations, and consumer protection. The conference was co-sponsored by the European Banking Center (EBC) at Tilburg University and the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE). This was the first conference in a cycle of conferences organized jointly by TSE and Tilburg University.
