TiCC's goal is to design and develop creative and intelligent systems of which the functionality is directly applicable in the real world.

Research Programs

The Tilburg center for Cognition and Communication consists of two research program.

  1. The Language, Communication, and Cognition (LCC) research program, which explores cognitive, functional and social aspects of human communication through a multidisciplinary approach for a broad variety of domains. LCC is led by Prof.dr. Emiel Krahmer and Prof.dr. Marc Swerts. Other professors, within this research program, are Prof.dr. Harry Bunt, Prof.dr. Fons Maes, Prof.dr. Leo Noordman and Prof.dr.Jan Renkema.

  2. The Creative Computing (CC) research program, which concerns itself with the computational modelling of cognitive processes in the visual, linguistic, and ludological domains. CC is led by Prof.dr. Antal van den Bosch and Prof.dr. Eric Postma. Other professors, within this research program, are Prof.dr. Myriam Diocaretz, Prof.dr. Gerard van Oortmerssen, Prof.dr. Aske Plaat, Prof.dr. Jan de Vuijst, and Prof.dr. Jan van Zanten.
