International Ticer Summer School to be held in Tilburg, the Netherlands, August 21-24, 2012

Ticer has the pleasure of announcing that the 15th edition of its International Summer School on Digital Libraries will be held from August 21 to 24, 2012 in Tilburg, The Netherlands.
The Summer School will be held at Tilburg University, located in the southern part of the Netherlands. Its campus, designed with a compact architectural concept in mind, is set in gently undulating, park-like grounds on a forest edge.

Four central themes

As is tradition with the Summer School, different modules will trace developments of 4 central themes:

Module 1: Tuesday, August 21: Strategic developments and library management
Module 2: Wednesday, August 22: Libraries moving to the cloud: technological developments
Module 3: Thursday, August 23 The library in the scholar’s workflow and research data
Module 4: Friday, August 24: Libraries – partners in teaching and learning

International lecturers of the Summer School are all renowned experts in their field. Among our speakers will be: David Lankes (professor and the Dean’s Scholar on New Librarianship at Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies), Rachel Frick (Digital Library Federation Program, Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR), Herbert van der Sompel (team leader of the Digital Library Research and Prototyping Team at the Research Library of the Los Alamos National Laboratory).
Ticer’s course director will be Mr. Lorcan Demsey, Vice President, OCLC Research and Chief Strategist.

NEW! Director’s course: Library leadership in the 21st Century
New with this 2012 edition of the Summer School is an exclusive three day library director’s course previous to the Summer School, organized in cooperation with LIBER. Course group size will be limited to 16 people.

Early bird discount

Both Summer School and Director's Course are open for registration. Please register using our online registration forms. Fee per module is € 839 + VAT. You can attend one or more modules. We offer an early bird discount of € 150 + VAT for registrations made before May 1, 2012. Fee for the library director's course (3 days) is € 3100 + VAT.
