Workshop on Economic Governance and Organizations

Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, The Tilburg Law and Economics Center (TILEC) organizes the Workshop “Economic Governance and Organizations” on 6 and 7 June 2013 in Tilburg.

Keynote Speakers
Luis Garicano (LSE)
Henry Smith (Harvard University)
Henry Hansmann (Yale University)
Guido Tabellini (Bocconi University)

The Workshop
The TILEC workshop on “Economic Governance and Organizations” will assemble scholars studying the structure and commonalities of organizations that mitigate economic governance problems. The set-up is highly interdisciplinary and open to all rigorous scientific methodologies. We will see a mix of theoretical, conceptual, empirical, and experimental work coming from law, economics, management, and political science. We aim at creating an open atmosphere that stimulates interdisciplinary discussions, in particular to understand where perceived discrepancies across disciplines are the effect of substantive differences/scientific approaches or where they are merely the result of a different definition of keywords.

The workshop will be held in Tilburg, The Netherlands, on June 6th and 7th. Registration is open and free but will close on May 17th. On June 6, there will be a conference dinner, which all participants can opt to join (for a ¤60,- fee). Each paper is allocated 60 minutes (regular presentations) or 75 minutes (keynote lectures), including plenty of time for discussion. In addition, many breaks facilitate the informal exchange of views.

Important dates
The call for papers is now closed.
Authors of accepted papers will be notified by March 15, 2013. In case of questions, please contact the workshop organizers (see below). Speakers might be asked to discuss a paper. Completed drafts of accepted papers are due by May 26, 2013, and will be made available for download on the conference website.
