Keynote Speakers

Cristina Bicchieri earned her PhD in philosophy of science from the University of Cambridge in 1984. She is currently the Carol and Michael Lowenstein Professor of Philosophy and Legal Studies, and the Director of the Philosophy, Politics and Economics program. Before moving to University of Pennsylvania, she taught in the program of Philosophy and Economics at Columbia University, Notre Dame University and Carnegie-Mellon University. Her interests lie at the intersection of philosophy, game theory and psychology. Her more recent publications focus on experimental studies on game-theoretical theories of social norms. Mark Colyvan is Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Sydney Centre for the Foundations of Sciences. He held visiting positions at the University of California - Irvine, Pittsburgh, Caltech, and Stanford University. His current research projects are on group decision methods, decision and risk in environmental science, ethics and decision theory and formal approaches to social epistemology. He has published widely on the philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of logic, rational choice theory, philosophy of ecology, and general philosophy of science. Ralph Hertwig earned his PhD in 1995 in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Konstanz. Before moving to the University of Basel, where he is currently Full Professor of Cognitive and Decision Sciences and Dean of Research, he has been research scientist at the Center for Adaptive Behavior and Cognition at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin. His main research areas concern bounded rationality, individual and social heuristics, and cognitive process in risky choice.
