Conference Participation Ianika Tzankova Oxford 2013
(January 2013) Professor Tzankova will participate in the upcoming conference "Building effective markets – the role of an integrated legal system" at Oxford University. Professor Tzankova will give a presentation about "The settlement approach: the Geschillencommissie system and the Class Action Settlement Act". Conference Participation Ianika Tzankova
(August 2012) TISCO professor Ianika Tzankova will participate in a series of conferences in the upcoming academic year. On the 4th of October 2012 she will be the keynote speaker at a Panel Meeting of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce in Zurich, Switzerland. The topic of the meeting is "Recent Developments in US and European Class Actions". In January 2013 Ianika Tzankova will speak at the international conference "Building Effective Markets - The Role of an Intergrated Legal System". The conference will be hosted by the Center for Socio-Legal Studies which is affiliated with Oxford University and the Erasmus University Rotterdam. The conference will take place on the 29th and 30th of January 2013 in Zurich, Switzerland. In June 2013 Ianika Tzankova is invited as speaker at the conference "The Transformation of Enforcement" at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy.

ING charity fund ‘écht©goed doen’ sponsors Microjustice Kenia
(May 2012) ING employee Peter Smits submitted a funding request for the Microjustice Kenia Project in the second round of the Dutch ING Charity ‘écht©goed doen’. ING employees could vote for their favourite project. End result of the thrilling competition is a smashing fourth place and a grant of 50,000 euros for the Microjustice Kenia Project. ING’s Peter Smits and TISCO’s Jin Ho Verdonschot will keep us posted on the developments and results of MJ Kenia.

Update May 2012: In March 2012 Peter Smits, TISCO's Jin Ho Verdonschot and TISCO's Robert Porter have visited Kenia in order to monitor the progress of the project. A report of their journey is now available online.

Innovating Justice Forum 2012: Towards basic justice care for everyone
(2 April 2012) Tisco and HiiL have initiated a Forum which will culminate in an event in The Hague on 16-17 April 2012. The goal of the forum is to organise support for innovations and to link innovators, experts and stakeholders. The forum will identify the most promising strategies and concrete steps to improve the climate to innovate, so that “basic justice care” can become available for everyone. A select group of Rule of Law experts and representatives from international organizations have been invited to take part.
