Bio

I am an Associate Professor of Vision and AI in the department of Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence. My research interests include the structure, function and plasticity of human visual cortex in health and disease, applying knowledge of biological vision to computer vision, and developing novel data-analytical approaches for the analysis of (big) neuroimaging data. Prior to joining Tilburg University, I was a PI at the Radboudumc, and Associate PI at the Donders Institute in Nijmegen. Following my PhD in visual neuroscience at the University of Groningen and postdoc positions in the US and UK, I obtained a VENI fellowship from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) in 2016, and an NWO VIDI fellowship in 2020. I am also a Senior Research Affiliate at the Donders Institute (DCCN), associate editor for Frontiers in Neuroscience, the outgoing chair of the Open Science Committee of the Organisation for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM), and a board member of the Dutch Hemianopia Foundation.
