Attending VIU courses is free of tuition fees because of Tilburg University's membership of the network. The only additional costs are travel expenses and accommodation expenses. The VIU offers student housing for approximately € 350 per month on the island of San Servolo. As is common in many other European and other countries, these rooms will be shared by two people.
Should you prefer to have your own room, it is an option to rent a flat in the Center of Venice, with one or more fellow students. This is something you have to arrange by yourself, but there are students who have studied at VIU and who can advise you on this.
Whether you live on San Servolo island or in the city centre, it is very easy to get around. There are regular ferries leaving for and from VIU every 20 minutes during the peak hours during the day and every hour during the night (with the exception of 2-6am, when a water taxi would be needed to get to and from the island).
