Top-level sport and Tilburg University
Tilburg University is proud of its top-level sports students. The university is therefore trying to support these students in the best way possible in order to facilitate the successful combination of top-level sport and study.

Facilities for top-level athletes
Tilburg University works closely with the Olympic Network Brabant (ONB) to provide facilities to students who want to combine study and top-level sports. Among others the university offers additional student supervision and in some cases financial assistance when top-level sports activities cause delays in study progress.

Rowing and hockey as core sports
The university has chosen two core sports: rowing and field hockey. These typical student sports will receive extra university support. The kind of support Tilburg University offers can be found on the websites for rowing and field hockey.
Road to Rio
In cooperation with Vidar Rowing Association and Pendragon Sports Council, Tilburg University has set up the ‘Road to Rio’ project. The aim of the project is to raise the bar among athletes (or alumni) at Tilburg University so that they can achieve the ultimate dream of participating in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
