Tilburg University nominates four scientists for Klokhuis Science Award
23rd January 2023This year, Tilburg University has nominated four research projects for the Klokhuis Science Award. This award is presented every year for research that is interesting as well as relevant for children aged 9 to 12. The award aims to make a broad and young audience familiar with scientific research in the Netherlands. The award ceremony is on Sunday, March 19.

New closing time – 19:00 hrs. – for several office buildings as of January 30
17th January 2023As of Monday, January 30, 2023, several buildings on Tilburg University campus will close at 19:00 hrs. The main reason for this decision is to reduce energy consumption and, by extension, energy costs. Adjusting opening hours is the logical way forward in times when we all have a responsibility to reduce our ecological footprint. The new closing times will be evaluated before the summer.

GoAbout pilot: share bikes and electric shared cars not extended
01st December 2022Since November 2021, students and staff of Tilburg University had been using GoAbout's shared bicycles and electric shared cars. These sustainable means of transportation were available as a pilot for the period of 1 year. It was decided not to extend this pilot. This means that the facilities will no longer be available on campus as of December 31, 2022.

Fleur Theulen wins 2022 ASML Young Talent Mathematics Graduation Award
30th November 2022We are proud to announce that Fleur Theulen has written this year’s best national mathematics thesis. In its unanimous decision, the jury praised Fleur’s research on determining locations for new medical aid stations in Vietnam. The award was presented to Fleur at a ceremony hosted by the Royal Holland Society for the Sciences (KHMW) in Haarlem on November 28.

We UNiTE to end violence against women
25th November 2022Did you know that around the world 1 in 3 women suffer violence at some point in their lives? To draw attention to this shocking and unacceptable statistic, Tilburg University supports the global Orange the World campaign between November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and December 10, Human Rights Day. In that 16-day period, some of Tilburg University’s buildings, like those of hundreds of other organizations in the Netherlands, light up orange to symbolize a brighter future, free of violence.
