Unless you study at TST in Utrecht, it is not possible to hand in the form by e-mail. If you study at TST in Utrecht, please scroll down.

Who can run in the elections?

If your name appears on the electoral role, you can also register as a candidate for the representation of the board for which you are eligible to vote. You can access the electoral role by contacting the Electoral Office.

Register individually or as part of a party

You can be an individual candidate, or form a party (fractie) (of maximum 30 candidates per party). The disadvantage of forming a one-member party is that you have no spare candidates. This means you cannot appoint a successor, if you were to leave the Council before completing your term. The higher your position on the list, the more likely you are to be elected. Please ask the Electoral Office for more information.

How do I register as a candidate?

To register you have to fill in a candidacy form. These forms will be available as of February 16, 2018. You can obtain a form on the website, in room C 163, or by e-mail.

The form has to be co-signed by supporters. This is the last page on the form. Anyone who is allowed to vote for the Council you are running for, can sign this paper. Remember that includes you! So you can ‘co-sign’ your own candidacy.

Every candidate can only be on one list per election (council). Voters may co-sign more than one list. The only condition is that they must be entitled to vote for the councils they are co-signing candidacy forms for. For more information, please contact the Electoral Office.

Completed forms have to be handed in on March 19th, March 20th and March 21st, before 04.30 p.m. in Room C 163 (the Electoral office). THE FORM CAN ONLY BE HANDED IN PERSON.

If you are a candidate in Utrecht you may also send in an e-mail containing a scan of the form. THIS IS ONLY POSSIBLE FOR TST STUDENTS AND STAFF BASED IN UTRECHT. The e-mail address is: Emails containing registration forms may only be handed in electronically on March 19t, 20th and March 21st, between 09.00 a.m. and 04.30 p.m.. The electoral office will confirm the receipt of the registration form within the hour. Only this confirmation can count as evidence for handing in the form. If you do not receive confirmation of the Electoral Office within the hour, it will be necessary to send the email again.

After sending the e-mail, the original form should be sent through the post. Address:

Candidate presentation

Of course you want to get elected. This means you’ve got some campaigning to do. One contribution towards your campaign is presenting yourself on the elections website.

You can also make your own material, for which the university has a limited budget available.
