Tilburg University Research Portal for students

The Tilburg University Research Portal showcases the breadth and diversity of Tilburg University’s research, from research biographies and research groups to project details and research outputs such as peer-reviewed articles and published books.

Tilburg University Research Portal replaces the Tilburg University Repository. All publications that were previously visible in the repository, are now part of the Research Portal. And the Research Portal offers much more! In addition to publications, you will find information about Tilburg researchers, organizational units, activities and projects.

The Research Portal contains seven searchable sections.

Home

The homepage of the Research Portal provides an overview of the latest publications and activities of Tilburg University researchers as well as the most recent projects.

Researchers

In 'Researchers' you will find the names of the current Tilburg University researchers, but also of the researchers who were employed by Tilburg University in the past. You can also search for researchers from a particular organizational unit such as a department.

Research units

The section 'Research units' gives an overview of the schools and the underlying organizational units (such as departments and research groups). You may also find some older units. If possible, you will see the most recent activities, projects and publications of each organizational unit. You will also find a list of researchers who have or have had a working relationship with that organizational unit.

Activities

Besides writing publications, there is work that does not directly result in publications, but can be considered as part of valorisation of exposure. This work is visible in the section 'Activities'. It includes participation in conferences, giving lectures, working as an editor or reviewer and awards.

Publications

The publications of the Tilburg University researchers make the largest part of the Research Portal. If possible, the digital version of a publication is provided. The publications in the Research Portal are visible for the entire world; full text publications are only public when permission has been given by the author.

A separate web provides more information about the availability and visibility of publications and the various search strategies. 

Projects

The section 'Projects' has a broad scope. It contains the research that takes place or has taken place at Tilburg University, but also specific areas of research. The information includes an overview of the researchers involved, the publications written within a project and the duration of a project.

Relation with (the publication lists in) Experts & Expertise

Experts & Expertise provides information about the researchers associated with our university and focuses at people and media outside Tilburg University.

Each researcher has his or her personal Experts & Expertise page with the possibility of including a link to his or her publication list. Soon, this list will be generated from the Tilburg University Research Portal, and will be presented in the Portal environment. As a rule, this list only presents publications that were written whilst the researcher was employed by Tilburg University. Publications that were written before the author was employed by Tilburg University, but were already imported into Metis (Pure as from April, 2014) are also visible in the Research Portal.


Publications

The publications of the Tilburg University researchers make the largest part of the Research Portal. If possible, the digital version of a publication is provided. The publications in the Research Portal are visible for the entire world; full text publications are only public when permission has been given by the author.

Searching for publications

  • After clicking the Publications section, you will see the ten most recent publications that have been registered in the Research Portal. This is also the place where you start a search for publications. The default presentation of the publications is by publication year.
  • The Research Portal provides some new options for a publications search. Narrowing a search by year and language is also possible of course.
    • Search for publications of a specific 'organizational unit'
    • Search  for publications in a specific 'publication category'
    • Search for 'peer reviewed' or 'non-peer reviewed' publications
  • At each publication, you will find the researcher's organizational unit under the name of the Tilburg University author(s). Usually, it is the department the researcher works for.
  • A search will not only be performed within the fields of a publication record, but also within the full text with the publication.
  • You have several options to sort your search results: by publication year, by title and by publication type (ascending or descending). The default order by publication type is: article – book/film/article review – chapter – book – conference contribution – book editing – report – inaugural speech – discussion paper – doctoral thesis – case note.
