New publication: "Africa and the ICC; Perceptions of Justice"

Eefje de Volder of Tilburg University is one of the editors of the recently published book Africa and the ICC; Perceptions of justice (Cambridge University Press). This book provides the reader with detailed insights into the interaction between the African Union and the International Criminal Court (ICC), but also looks further at the impact of the ICC at a societal level in African states and examines other justice mechanisms on a local and regional level in these countries.

The various contributions examine the relationship of the International Criminal Court (ICC) with Africa from different disciplines, provide the reader with the different views that encompass not only the large-scale processes at play, but also the local perceptions of the ICC in African communities. By looking beyond the ICC and at other justice mechanisms in Africa, it makes the reader aware that the ICC is not alone in addressing international crimes in Africa.
